  • Surface research and studies of effects of atomic environment on transitions of electrons bound in the innermost atomic shells using electron spectroscopy. (The applied methods are: XPS = X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, X-AES = X-ray excited Auger-electron spectroscopy, AR-XPS = Angular Resolved Photoelectron Spectroscopy, HAXPES = Hard X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy).
  • Application of electron spectroscopic methods for chemical state resolved analysis of surface and interface layers of solids.
  • Cluster Molecular Orbital calculations (DV-Xα, Wien 2k) for the interpretation and modelling of electron spectra
